Share & Share Alike

Today's prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2011/03/todays-writing-prompt-share.html

One thing I really love to share is my story. The tale of how God, because He loved me so much, sent His Son to rescue me from the muck and the mire always puts a smile on my face and brings a tear to my eye. However, there is a list of things I will not share: underwear, toothbrush, and ice cream are at the top of it.

Talent Show

Todays prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2011/02/todays-writing-prompt-talent.html

What? I've gotta go on stage in 10 minutes!? What am I going to do? My talent is preaching, but it takes me 10 minutes to say "Hello" and, I can't think of anyone who has ever preached a sermon as part of a talent show. I guess I'll have to go the stand-up comedy route. After all, I have three teenage children so there is a wealth of material at my disposal. Besides, they owe me!

Crazy

Today's Prompt:http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2011/02/todays-writing-prompt-crazy.html

My wife's car was leaking transmission fluid. After a weekend of sitting in my driveway, the fluid was pretty much gone. I knew I had to take it in to a mechanic. I make no claim to any real knowledge of how to work on cars, but I do have some basic skills like repleneshing fluids, switching out the battery, and even changing brake pads. So, it makes me absolutely crazy when I find out the car designer buried the resevoir for the transmission fluid under the engine, like there would never be any use for that! I darn near lost a couple of fingers trying to get my hand in to remove the cap, only to find out I'd need a foot-long, triple jointed funnel to get anything in it! Yeah, that drives me crazy! Just seal the hood shut and tell me you don't want me to mess with the engine!

Do I Have To Go Back?

Today's prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2009/11/todays-writing-prompt-time-off.html
By far, the most difficult part of having time off of work or school for me is the part where it ends, and I have to go back. Getting back to the routine of getting up to an alarm clock again is horrible after a few days of hanging out watching football in my pajamas. My body's clock doesn't like to be tinkered with that way. I love vacations and time off, but the whole time I think about the dreaded day when I will inevitably have to return to real life.

Your Best Neighbor Now

Today's prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2009/01/todays-writing-prompt-neighbor.html

Joel Osteen. That guys is always happy and smiling. He's living his "best life now." He seems like the kind of guy that invites the whole neighborhood over for barbeques and swimming. He'll return your tools when he's done, and maybe wash your car, because he noticed it was dirty while he was washing his. Plus, if I live next door to Joel Osteen, I live in a much nicer house in a much nicer neighborhood.

Promises, Promises

Yesterday's prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2009/01/todays-writing-prompt-holiday.html

"Make Good On Your Promise Day" In line with our country's presidential heritage, this should be a day where we all have to make good on the promises we have made over the past year; especially those to people who have provided any financial resources to help us get to where we are.

The Longshots

Today's prompt: http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2008/12/todays-writing-prompt-movie-review_18.html

"The Longshots"

It's not "Remember the Titans", but, nonetheless fun and inspiring.
